  2. Marriage and Family Therapy - Discuss how the perceptions of families have changed over time.

    • Analyze the influence of substance use and addictive disorders on couples and families.
  3. Trauma - Graduates of the Post-Master of Science in Counseling: Trauma Certificate will be able to analyze the effects of trauma and interpersonal violence on victims, their families, and the community; and develop prevention and treatment strategies at micro and macro levels.
    • Analyze the physical and psychological effects of trauma.
    • Develop strategies for treating trauma victims.
    • Create an action plan for responding to a disaster within a community.
    • Analyze educational material for the prevention of interpersonal violence.
    • Analyze short- and long-term consequences of childhood trauma.
